Canberra Crushed! November, Australian Strongman Championship Clean Sweep

Hosted by “Tarton Warriors Promotions” the stage was set for a reckoning. 4 of the best current strength athletes Australia has to offer.

Tested over 3 worthy strength tests:
• 130 kg (each hand) farmers walk for distance
• 280 kg Anchor Drag
• Stones of Strength (165 kg biggest)

The 3 other competitors fought well but none better than Craig Reid from Newcastle. He is a very determined competitor who pushed me on every event, however I managed to win all 3 events and maximum points for the win. Camaraderie was great and a great sense of support and encouragement between the guys was terrific to see.

3. Michael Sidonio

Thailand Comeback

October, after a brief spell from International Competition I made a return to World Strongman Competition with the “United Strongman Series”. 10 Internationals from all over the world faced off in the sweltering heat of Bangkok City. The battle was hard fought by a determined bunch finally won by the machine like Ukrainian Mikhail Starov. A strongman to be reckoned with. I finished a well placed 4th overall with a solid performance showing consistency in all the events. With regular competition I believe I can improve overall standing. “Watch Out”.

New World Mark

17 Sept @ 3:20pm I pulled an R.T.A. roadworthy “Road Train” provided by Grants Transport, weighing 62.9 Tonne a distance of 5.2 Mtrs and shortly after pulled the same “Road Train” with an extra trailer attached (Prime Mover with 4 Boagies and dolly system between each trailer) a distance of 1.8 Mtrs.

Note: We took 5 Mtrs as a minimum course distance so the final pull attempted will be considered unofficial and a work in progress. I will be back to attempt the 4 trailer (78 Tonne) pull to the 5 mtr mark. (Weighbridge cert and surveyors report provided with official eyewitness will be forwarded to Guinness World Records for consideration.)

Undefeated Bundanoon. April.

Once again the big crowds gathered and the strongman also. Garned with traditional Scottish kilts we took to the field, five “stones of strength”, the biggest weighing 165 kg for us. “A Reckoning” Mike Sidonio made a determined and solid effort but faltered with the last stone. Craig Read the strongman from Newcastle went better posting just over 30 sec to complete all 5 stones. The pressure was on!!! Adrenalin pumped and ears pinned back I let fly. 20 sec’s later I sat a new Bundamoon stone lifting record beating my previous best. The 25 thousand crowd is generous with applause and makes all the hard alone hours of training worth while.

Hollywood Here I Come OK here it is!!!

After recently moving to the Gold Coast Queensland, I found myself a Manager and Agent in Gary Hopes of V-Management and wow!!! Have things happened quickly. Acting classes (Advanced Drama / V-Management) Promotional work, Auditions, World Records and Media Releases with National exposure. Shortly after joining V-Management I was asked to screen test for a big Hollywood movie and would you believe it, I got the part. I packed my bags and was flown to a series of destinations in China for shooting over a 3 month period, what an adventure!!!. I mixed it with some Hollywood Stars and whilst watching, listening, asking a lot of questions, I was able to develop my craft on set and ultimately develop a real passion to extend myself within the movie industry!!! The mystery movie premiers worldwide next year. So Watch Out. I will let you know more details as we get closer.

New Guinness World Record. March Oh Yeah! My second Guinness World Record!

Lytton, the industrial area of Brisbane I managed with the help of Cahill Transport to break the existing truck pulling record held by Canadian Strongman Priest Kevin Fast of Ontario (46.69 Ton vehicle over a 30 mtr course) I achieved a new mark of 51.84 tonne vehicle pulled over a 30 mtr course in 48 sec!!!. Channel 7 “Guinness World Records” program and Official Guinness referees adjudicated the attempt with the necessary surveyors report and weigh bridge certification and soon after confirmed a successful attempt. “Come One, Come All. I now leave this matter to the World at large to better this mark!”
